PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' has become one of the biggest hits of video games not only for helping to popularize the genre 'battle royale' but also for its mobile version. However, Reuters says this is the smartphone version that was shut down in China, with tech giant Tencent having decided on another alternative.

Instead of 'PUBG Mobile' Tencent will focus on 'Elite Force for Peace', a game of the same style created in China that seemed to please the communist government. In addition to being less violent than 'PUBG Mobile', in 'Elite Force for Peace' the characters in the game do not bleed and only people under the age of 16 can participate.

Tencent's motive for deciding to leave 'PUBG Mobile' is that the technology giant has not been able to collect the proceeds from the micro-transactions in the game, with the Chinese government refusing to grant the license.
